most cars have replaced the throttle cable for an ECM (electronic control module) that translates how hard the pedal is pushed, into electronic signals providing power to the wheels. the ETC (electronic throttle control), which is also known as the "drive-by-wire", has the downside of providing delayed response and subdued acceleration. this can crate problems during up-hill starts, quick gear changes and passing cars. the sprint booster overcomes this throttle response delay by providing crisp, immediate acceleration whenever the driver demands it.
